Apr 23, 2013  I would really like to see CPS3 on solid state. The scsi drives are going to fail and this would keep these systems alive. I bought an ACARD scsi to IDE adapter bridge sometime last year, the jumpers on it dont seem to match up with what you need to allow the CPS3 to see it as a scsi drive connectd.

Very rare SCSI to CF card device and extremely nice in a studio setup as it makes zero noise. With a new 4 GB card. There's a fan build in but not connected(never was. Not needed with cards, the housing is all round type) Tested and used with Yamaha A3000 sampler. Im seling'no return' certainly not due to any functional problems but as I don't want anyone claiming that'its not working' if buyer has made a mistake in setting it up. It can take a bit of time getting a SCSI chain working but mostly it's very easy.

This is a great sampler. With an excellent warm tone and it is fully loaded. The unit is in perfect working condition and has no issues.

Currently installed are the super rare Akai EB-20 Fx card( not one up one ebay now) and the 128 mb polophony upgrade card.The item has fully upgraded memory 256 mb,and included in the deal is a cd rom drive and high end scsi cable to load sample cds as well. The screen is perfect with no lines showing, and all the outputs and knobs are dust and noise free. This was only used in a smoke free enviroment. If you buy someone's non-replaced switches RS unit you run the risk of a slow, non-responsive and basically useless piece of hardware.

Something as elementary as tapping a pad in rhythm, if it doesn't respond instantly, you're left spinning your wheels, getting frustrated and messing up your recording. The majority of these RS units are being sold because the pads don't respond to perfection. After all they are over a decade in age. Most sellers say they work but'working' and'working correctly' are two different animals. Not worth the risk IMO and I've repaired 50 at least that are better than new condition on these switches. After doing some more research on this product I found the person that actually is doing the developing and it's for a SCSI2 drives and not SCSISo it probably would not work I am assuming with our SCSI card.Essentially the same thing. Just that SCSI2 introduced fast and wide modes. As long as it is narrow it should work just fine.

Even if not, there is a chance you can get a good wide-to-narrow adapter. Been doing this with Amiga and Sun for two decades.One thing to note about the wide-to-narrow adapters is that you want one which terminates the unused lines. Otherwise all sorts of bad voodoo may occur. I've used a bunch of the ACARD-based IDESCSI adapters in various gear (these converters were very readily available here in Tokyo ten years ago), and they're hit-and-miss on hardware compatibility. It's not driver-dependent, it appears to depend on something hardware-side that hits early in the host-to-target commo protocol negotiation.They're no good on a SparcStation 10/20 (WD33C93, both wide and narrow, Solaris and.BSD). I was quite disappointed that none of my ACARDs would work in my SS20 - it's a nice rig, quad Ross HyperSPARC processors and a couple of HME/SCSI SBUS modules. The stock 72-gig shoebox drives sound like low-flying aircraft; I had wanted to replace at least the boot drive with something less noisy, but no joy.This with with the ARC760-B as used by the AztecMonster and the much older 'CATS' chip on the CHR-35INT2 (I have no idea if the latter was ever available outside Japan).
